Overview of the EZ
“Special Economic Zones” are specified by the Policy Committee for Special Economic Zones (PCSEZ) as zones which are to be supported with investment because they will be granted with special privileges for business enterprises promoted by the Government. Investors will be facilitated in their investments via contact with the One Stop Service Centre (OSS) and they will be offered tax incentives, financial measures, management of the daily commute of foreign labour to work and the allocation of rented areas. Also, the Government will develop the infrastructure to cater for such investment the “Special Economic Zones” are parts of an important policy that supports the
elevation of border trade and wishes to develop the communication and transport system that
connects Thailand with the Region. The advantage of the geographical location of Thailand is
that it is in the central part that connects all parts of the Region.
Trat Special Economic Zone Was established in 2015 in accordance with the policy to promote border economic development in order to be a link with international trade networks
Location Advantage

Trat Province is the Eastern-most coastal province of Thailand. Its total area is 2,818 square kilometres and its border, by land and by sea, is next to Cambodia. By land, it is adjacent to Phra Tambong, Photisat and Koh Kong Provinces in Cambodia, covering a distance of 165 kilometres. The sea border is 165.50 kilometres long. This province is 315 kilometres from Bangkok.

The Special Economic Zone in Trat Province covers an area of 50.20 square kilometres (31,375 Rai), including 3 sub-districts in Khlong Yai District, which are Khlong Yai, Hat Lek and Mai Rood Sub-districts. The distance between Bangkok and the Special Economic Zone in this province is 420 kilometres.

Tax Incentives

  • Exemption/reduction of import duties on machinery.
  • Reduction of import duties for raw or essential materials.
  • Exemption of import duties on materials imported for R&D purposes.
  • Exemption of corporate income tax on the net profit and dividends derived from the promoted activity.
  • Exemption of corporate income tax on net profit and dividends derived from the promoted high technology and innovation activity.
  • A 50 percent reduction of the corporate income tax.
  • Double deduction from the costs of transportation, electricity and water supply.
  • Additional 25 percent deduction of the cost of installation or construction of facilities.
  • Exemption of import duty on raw or essential materials imported for use in production for export.
